Abstract Oregon Apparel Company
Founded by Hailey Willett. Born and raised in Oregon she wanted to start this brand based off the lack of awareness, education, resources, and stigma on mental illness; along with familiarizing the warning signs, and promoting resources on how to get help.
Abstract Oregon is an Oregon based brand that advocates for education and awareness on mental health. 20% of every purchase from Abstract is donated to NAMI Oregon, a state representative on the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
We wanted to do a logo that represents the abstract nature of the brand. By doing the circler logo with a small detached boarder within the ring we were able to make the logo be akin to a patch that was sown on. The brands font choice was DESIGNER and by utilizing its already abstracted styling we used a singular “A” to be the founding mark of the brand easily recognizable while also not painting us into a corner and allowing for versatility in future
uses & designs.
We wanted to highlight famous landmarks within Oregon and the Portland Skyline is one of the most recognizable for Oregonians and helps anchor Non-Oregonians to the heart of Oregon. We kept it abstract in order to keep to the theme of the brand and using a pattern that was already in use as the reflection of the city, we were able to tie back into what the brand was already doing further reinforcing the identity of the brand.
